1/200, f.8, AP, 640 ISO, 24mm, -0.3 EC, PMM, Handheld, 6:24 PM Today the isolated spot where Longfellow penned his famous lighthouse poem is one of Maine’s most popular tourist attractions. Lines of tour buses glide through Fort Williams Park to the large parking lot near the lighthouse. After extensive renovation, the keeper’s quarters opened as a museum in 1992, and there is a gift shop on the grounds as well.

great shot - and a different perspective of the lighthouse. the light was just right along with the gulls in flight - it has a nice warm feeling to it.great capture.

You could not have captured a more idyllic scene of this picturesque Maine lighthouse, Lou. The golden hour bathing the tower and the top of the rocky shoal in a soft warm light while the contrast provided by the eve’s shade on the side of the bank accentuates the cottages above it. Your timing perfect as the sea of clouds parted into a lovely window that frames the top beacon. With patience and your skilled hands you turned this classic scene, along with its delicate natural light and dramatic sky line, into an image of exceptional and timeless beauty.

Thisis stunning. The light could not of been any better. You sure did capture a beautiful glow. Perfect timing. Great composition on this beautiful scene. the birds are just an added touch. This should be enlarged and framed in a gallery.

Lou-This is one of my favorite perspectives of the light and you were there at exactly the right time of day to get this shot. Very nicely composed (as always) and the lighting is perfect. Having the clouds and the birds in the image adds to the quality...just an excellent image in every way. Very well done!!!

Great composition Lou, I like that it was a handheld capture. If you are still in the area don't forget the Nubble Light house in York, Maine one of my favorites. And I would like to see you do justice to it with your camera.
