Comment:
We just happened to be at Baxter State Park to witness the first snow of the season on Mount Katahdin. The mountain was covered by clouds for most of the day but a breeze blew enough of it away for us to be able to catch a glimpse of the snow. The top of this mountain is the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. The portion of the trail up the mountian was closed while we were there due to ice.
