Our community's mission is to encourage the general public to
visit and experience the natural diversity and cultural
heritage of these

state, and
local public lands,
and we encourage you to join us in this meaningful endeavor!
Photographs from a family camping trip, snapshots of a walk along a park trail, or pictures of a flight of birds over a lake
at sunset all help to convey the recreational opportunities and beauty to an individual who might be looking for a weekend getaway or some afternoon exercise in a quite, scenic
location. We seek to encourage people to visit these properties, not only for photography, but for education, awareness, and enjoyment.
Whether you are a professional, amateur or simply an enthusiast photographer, your photographs will help to promote these public lands to other
potential visitors. If you are concerned that your photographs are "not good enough" to compete in a
photography contest, please do not let that stop you from registering photographs that will help our
community show the public the recreational and visual opportunities at a particular public property!
You will learn a great deal from participating and registering photographs as many of our members are excellent photographers and
willing to take some time to encourage and instruct enthusiast and beginning photographers. However, if you do enjoy participating in photo contests, you may also win recognition
from other members of our community and some very nice
prizes and awards for your work.
