Manual, ISO 100, f/22, 8 seconds at 6:37 pm.
The soft painterly look can be attributed to the IS being left on when the lens was mounted to the tripod…Oops! A mistake that taught me a very valuable lesson..I now double check to make sure the image stabilization is off!
A 0.9 straight neutral density filter along with a high f/stop was used to extend the shutter speed giving a silky appearance to the crashing waves and a moose warming polarizer kept the beautiful blue tone of the evening sky unchanged during the length of the exposure.

One of the simple pleasures of traveling Maine's byways is the wildflowers that bloom regardless of the weather. Late June/early July is the time of the Daisy and Black-eyed Susans. The rain that has been received this June and continueing into July, has everything very tall and lush, with the blooms only lasting a very short time.

MacKerricher State Park is a lovely spot to camp and take in the sites, visit the scenic Mendocino coastline, dive for abalone (in season) hike, bike, or just relax. There's a skeleton of a Gray Whale at the visitor center, and it's just about three miles out of town (Fort Bragg). It's also within easy reach of several other very nice State Parks along this very beautiful reach of coastline.

Oceanside Pier is one of the longest wooden piers on the west coast at 1947 feet. A great place for summer walks at twilight time.
