There are two different methods you can use when entering photo contents. The most common approach is to submit your "favorite" picture and cross your fingers. That's an OK method and you might even win one or two contests that way but the odd are against you. The other technique is to get serious and treat it like any other competition. This begins with knowing the rules and making sure you follow them to the letter. Failure to do so means that even an entry that had a good chance of winning gets tossed out of contention...

Anza Borrego Foundation & Institute Photo Contest (01/03/2008)
The theme of the photo contest is the beauty and serenity of the park, and it is hoped contestants will share their love of the park through their photographs of animals, plants, landscapes and skyscapes, or of people out exploring and enjoying this vast desert. All photos should reflect one of these themes and are due by Jan. 30.rnrnA panel of judges will evaluate all entries and grant awards based on impact, originality or creativity, sharpness, proper exposure, color and presentation. Judges include astronomer/photographer Dennis McNamara and photographers Paul Johnson, Sam Webb and Kay Levie.rnrnContestants may enter up to five photos, and each photo must be accompanied by an entry form, a $5 fee and a valid model release where required (downloadable at http://www.theabf.org). The $5 entry fee will be waived for children and youths.
