This entire field was covered in wildflowers with a utility building for the adjacent ampitheatre on the horizon. It reminded me of watching Little House on the Prairie as I grew up!
By trade, I am a Web designer. As a result of my front-end (graphic) background, I have taken an interest in photography and have totally dove into it head first. It has now become an obsession in the highest order. Prior to my creative career endeavours, I was formerly a professional counselor and administrator for more than a decade in both Colorado and Texas. High stress and low rewards led me to the path of a career change.
My foray into digital photography began with an Olympus D-150 and then to the Nikon Coolpix 5700, which I love. Due to my obsession, I now own a Nikon D70. I also own two film SLR cameras: Nikon N65 and N70. I hope to have the D200 or D2X in the near future.
My current lens arsenal for shooting consists of:
Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX APO Macro EX DG HSM
Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Zoom
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED AF-S VR Zoom
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D AF
Nikkor 18-70mm f3.5-4.5G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom
Nikkor 12-24mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom
TC-17E II (1.7x) AF-S, AF-I Teleconverter
Kenko DG Teleplus Extension Tube Set
I'd say that 80% of my shots are done on a tripod for sharpness. The exceptions may be extremely bright sunny days where my shutter speed is atleast 1/500 of a second but preferrably 1/1000 or higher unless I use the VR lens.
My other interests include music composition and performance, camping, kayaking, travel, snow skiing, bicycling and other outdoor activities. Among my greatest passions is environmental issues and Native American studies.
I sell most of my photographs up to 20"x30" for those interested in purchasing them. Just contact me.
I do barter and side contract my web design services on occassion so if interest, feel free to contact me. In the past, I've built or gave Web sites a face lift in exchange for bed and breakfast stays and for other goods and services.
Thanks for taking time to read my bio and I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I have of others on this site and I appreciate downright honest critiques, especially when there is an opinion of how I can improve on the shots. It's the best way for me to improve!
