My first experience with photography was a 1966 Kodak Instamatic 100. My mother was an avid picture maker, and a master behind the Kodak Brownie, Argus and #10 view camera. She and Dad bought my first SLR (Minolta SRT100) during college in those psychedelic '70's. It was then that I became fascinated by color infrared photography. Although not much good in the darkroom (chemical vapors from mismatched developers/fixers/washes etc, etc. etc.) I continued to find pleasure and increased interest in 35mm nature and wildlife photography until children diverted my interests (and income). For the next twenty (or so) years I was relegated mainly to "snapshot taker" at family functions and other quick shot stuff. Stuff of which I have very fond memories. It was this twenty year period that honed that "mind's eye" (I didn't even know I had one!), grounded my temperament, and taught me the virtues of patience and appreciation of life's more primary pleasures.
