Highway 101 runs through Richardson Grove in Southern Humboldt County. A highway widening project has been proposed on the highway shown in this photo. Caltrans made an assessment that stated the highway can be widened without harming any of the old-growth redwoods. This photo was taken to depict that is simply undoable. There are old-growth redwoods on either side of the road inches from the white line in several places including this one...
