May brings beautiful blooms of pastel yellow and pink to ice plant along the landscape surrounding the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. As evening nears a soft breeze drives the waves breaking along the rocky coastline and you can feel the warmth of the setting sun as it casts its soft light on all that is around you. The scene before you so beautiful and peaceful that you breathe it in…wanting it to become a part of you…. An evening at Pigeon Point like no other.

Once a year they light the Fresnel lens that once protected mariners from the rocky shores. If our State Governor has his way, this may become a celebration of the past. Visit our partner site www.calparks.org to find out what you can do to help prevent this from happening. Thanks :o)

A couple of photographers have told me that just because you have taken a bunch of pictures of a scene, you are still never through with it. You need to work it and come back to it again and again at different times of the day and different times of the year. So I have decided to take their advice to heart and really work this scene of the Pigeon Point Lighthouse as I still haven't taken the picture I am looking for, one with all the color of a great sunset or with high drama of clouds in the sky. So I will keep trying and maybe one day ...
