POTD, POTM and POTY Contests

10) Photographs must be registered no later than 11:59 PM Monday, July 31, 2006, to be included in the community's last month's contest and the MyParkPhotos.com annual contest of 2006.

11) Judges base their decisions on the following qualities for the daily, monthly and yearly recognition contests:  Focus, Composition, Lighting, Technical Superiority, Impact, Creativity, and Storytelling.

12) Daily, Monthly and Yearly Recognition Contests:

A. Daily Photo Contest: Photographs are judged each evening in a Photograph of the Day ("POTD") contest.  The winning POTD is placed at the top of all pages within a slide-bar for community recognition.

B. Best Photograph of the Month Contest:  16 photographs are chosen from full and charter members each month to represent the best photographs from their respective category.  An eNewsletter is sent to all members who may "vote" for their choice as the Best Photograph of the Month!  The winning POTM is displayed on the right of all pages for community recognition.

B. Yearly Photo Contest: All photographs registered with MyParkPhotos.com between August 1, 2005 and July 31, 2006, will be judged by a three-member Jury and winners will be announced in August 2006.  Prizes are announced here.

13) Photographs eligible for the various POTD, POTM and POTY contests must adhere to the following:  Minor digital enhancement for cropping, red-eye removal, filters, corrective functions and legitimate manipulations such as burning and dodging, brightness and contrast, color adjustments, saturation, stitching and cropping are permitted, but not images that have been judged to be significantly altered.

Also, please do not place borders, frames, watermarks, signatures, dates, or copyright notices on your images. (To prevent judges from knowing ownership of the photographs while judging online, we especially request that members do not display the following on their photographs: watermarks, signatures and copyright notices.)

With member approval, MyParkPhotos.com will place a copyright watermark on all photographs after registration (see Member Profile for adding this service).  The watermark added to each displayed photograph is meant to provide additional security and copyright protection with a consistent presentation.

14) Registrations that fail to comply with these registration rules may be disqualified and removed from the website.

15) The decisions of the judge(s) for the community contests are final.
