Student Tuition Scholarship Awards
Annual Scholarship Competition
All high school, college and university students are welcome to participate in our
annual scholarship competition! If you are a beginning or amateur student
photographer and searching for scholarships to help with tuition
for college or photography workshops, please participate in our tuition scholarship photography contest!
MyParkPhotos.com will hold a competition to award one secondary or
post-secondary student in 2008 with a tuition scholarship of up to $500. The award
will be paid in two
installments. One scholarship of up to $250 in the Fall semester and one scholarship of up to $250 in the Spring semester.
Scholarships are made possible through all member dues and donations.
The scholarship competition runs from August 1, 2007 to July 31, 2008. A panel of judges will select the winner during August from the prior contest year's registered photographs.
Student Instructions for the Scholarship Contest
Each student participant must write at least one 250 word minimum article
on a public property and register a minimum of three
photographs pertaining to the subject of the article and the
property. One article per property maximum. Students may write
additional articles for the scholarship contest on various properties.
Each article and related three photographs
(if more than three photographs are registered for the
property for the year's competition, then the "best three"
are selected) are judged as one body of work with points given to the
photographs according to Focus, Composition, Lighting, Technical Superiority, Impact, Creativity, and Storytelling,
and the article will receive points according to grammar and storytelling in conjunction with the photographs.
To add an article to your gallery, you must
first register at least one photograph from the property that you would like to write about. After registering one or
more photographs to that property, click on Add/Edit Articles from your
Admin's Gallery Management section.
Then select the applicable property from the drop-down list. Type in an essay of at least 250
words into the following text field and click Save.
All of your photographs registered for that property will
appear below the article. View the 2007 winning article on
